
Martin Leigh, Founder - Grafmarine
Martin is the founder of Grafmarine providing a tile based renewable energy system for decarbonising 76,000 ocean ships. Martin is co-developing new marine AI technologies with the Turing Innovation Catalyst towards developing the world's first fully recyclable renewable energy by 2030.
Martin has also worked on developing advanced new growing technologies for agri-tech, using AI influenced structures, and designed re-usable preventive medical devices for diabetes complications with AI improvements.
He has written 7 patents families in the last 5 years and raised over £3m of private investment and £750k of innovate UK and ERDF finance support for these projects. Martin is a co-author on a published agritech academic paper and nominated for best Entrepreneur of the year in 2024, finalists for industry maritime technology awards twice in 2023 and finalists for KPMG Emerging Giants NW in 2024.
